Right click on the open screen and select 'Properties' option. Select the 'Settings' tab.
I would like to set the resolution to 1280x800 because that is the resolution of my portable. Of course if the VM is not in 'Full Screen' mode it will not fit on my portable. However, even if it is not in 'Full Screen' mode it will all fit on the high resolution screen I have attached.
To set the screen to the desired resolution do the following:
Select the 'Advanced' button.
Select the 'Adapter' tab.
Select the 'List All Modes...' button.
Scroll down till you find the correct settings.
Select 'OK' each time asked.
